Those customers/patients

So I'm working in a herbs store as both a cashier and Chinese Medicine Practitioner, I've happened to meet a handful of unusual people.

There is this middle-aged lady who is weak on knees and unable to walk after a fall, all the scans say no fractures or dislocations. Normally, we would suspect lumbar misalignment causing a pressure on nerves that blocking the signals for muscles. And therefore we would need the patient to lay face down for us to assess the signs and symptoms, but this lady doesn't want to lay face down, saying she is uncomfortable doing that. She refused medications as she is on dialysis, all she wants is just an acupuncture on her leg so she can walk again. I told her it is almost not possible to recover just by doing what she requested, as it is not treating the main source of problem. She seemed unhappy, and after awhile asked again if she could recover and walk again 😞

One day, an old lady walked in to ask for treatment for her uncontrolled high blood pressure. Her blood pressure is at 143/90 mmHg, which is consider just minor high for a 70 years old. Her doctor prescription a stronger medication for her but it made her headache without getting her pressure back down. I prescribed a Chinese Medicine prescription for her, and do an acupuncture on her. She felt immediate relieve from uncomfortable around her shoulder, neck and head. She seemed delighted and went back home. The next day, she came over claiming after taking the herbs, she felt bloated and refused for finish the prescription. She requested for herbs tablets instead (tablets are less effective medication compared to concoction as it is not customize-able per individual), I tried to persuade her to get back to concoction with little bit of amendment, she refused. So I remind her of pro and con of tablets, and out of no where she asked why hasn't her blood pressure gone down after one prescription drank. Seriously, I almost lost my temper, all my explanation weren't gone into her head!! Hello! Aunty, you took stronger pills and unable to control the pressure and now you expect to back to normal with just ONE prescription concoction you took! You think Chinese Medicine is magic ar?????
